我校哲学学院院长郭齐勇教授日前收到国际中国哲学会（ISCP）执行长、加拿大多伦多大学沈清松教授的电子邮件，该邮件通报了国际中国哲学会提名委员会的评审结果并在该学会的英文网站上向全体会员公布：上一届国际中国哲学会副主席郭齐勇教授被一致推选为新一届主席，任期自2006年2月1日至2008年1月31日。沈教授代表ISCP全体会员，向郭教授表示真诚的祝贺，感谢上一届主席、副主席在过去两年中的奉献和卓越的领导，并期待在新任主席、副主席的领导下，ISCP将取得更大的辉煌。郭教授日前还收到波士顿大学Robert Neville教授、夏威夷大学成中英教授等学者发来的贺电。
旨在沟通东西哲学，促进中国哲学走向世界与世界各国哲学走向中国，推动跨文化研究及世界哲学之建构的这一国际性的学术组织，于1975年创立干美国。现在，该学会包括了当今世界关心中国哲学之现代重建的专业哲学工作者与汉学家中一大批有实力的学者。该学会通过在美国的常设机构与世界各地的会员保持经常性的学术上的联系。该学会已经分别在北美、欧洲、东亚、澳洲的著名大学举办过十四次大型的国际中国哲学大会（现为每两年一次，每次约有来自近二十个国家的二百多名学者与会）。自上一世纪80年代中期以来，我校萧萐父、李德永、冯天瑜、郭齐勇、段德智、欧阳康、萧汉明、李维武、吴根友、丁四新等三代学者分别多次出席过上述大会，发表论文，参与该学会的一些学术活动。郭教授当选为该学会主席，武汉大学获得2007年国际中国哲学大会的主办权，是我校及其哲学学院，是我校中国哲学学科点之学术水平与团队实力的体现，也是我校国际地位提升的显现。 （金晶）

Dear ISCP members,
Let me wish you first of all a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year.
The first good news I want to share with you in the Chinese New Year
is that Prof. Guo Qiyong, Professor and Dean of Faculty of Philosophy,
Wuhan University, China, is elected unanimously as the new President of
ISCP, and Prof. Bernard C.C. Li, President of Fujen Catholic University,
Taiwan, is elected, also unanimously, as ISCP Vice-President. Their
term begins from February 1, 2006 to January 31, 2008.
My sincere congratulations to Prof. Guo and Prof. Li.
In the name of all ISCP members, let me thank Prof. Karyn Lai and
Prof. Guo Qiyong for their dedicated service and excellent leadership
in the past two years respectively as ISCP President and ISCP Vice-
President.
The second good news concerns the revision of ISCP Constitution. The
old text of Article IV, Section 3, Term of Office:“The Secretary and
the Treasurer shall be elected by the membership for a renewable three
year term" is now revised, also with unanimous agreement, as follows:
“The Secretary and the Treasurer shall be elected by the membership
for a renewable five year term.”
Let me thank the members of ISCP ad hoc committee: Prof. Sandra Wawrytko,
Prof. Peimin Ni, and Prof. Xiaogan Liu, chaired by Prof. Sandra Wawrytko,
for their precious time and work in the whole process and bringing to
us all the above good news.

Now let us all welcome our new President Prof. Guo Qiyong, and our
new Vice-President Prof. Bernard Li, and let us wish ISCP a great
prosperity under their new leadership.
