Li Shaojun

Li Shaojun, male, was born on June 23rd,1958 inCaidian district ofWuhan,Hubei. Professor Li was admitted to Department of History,WuhanUniversityin March, 1978, and graduated in Feb, 1982 with the Bachelor’s degree of History. In the same year, he started pursuing his studies as a graduate in history department majoring in Chinese modern history in the direction of the Opium War and acquired his master’s degree in Dec, 1984. Immediately, Professor Li was employed as a teaching assistant in theInstituteofChinesemodern history ofWuhanUniversityone month after his graduation, while ten and a half years later, he was promoted to an associate professor from alecturer. After a one-year visit from Oct, 1995 to Oct,1996 inthe University of Kyoto, Japan doing Humanities Research studies, he came back toChinaand was elected as the deputy director of the Department of History and Associate Dean of History andCultureSchool. The professor’s Major academic publications include: "Opium War History" (the book won “National Five NO. One Achievement Award” and “National Book Award” nomination), many translation works and academic papers and articles.
