Feng Tianyu, male, born in Hong’an County in 1942, was a member of CPC. Since 1964 when graduated fromWuhanNormalCollege, he has engaged in higher education work for over 30 years. His major study is in Chinese Cultural History. As a professor of the Department of History and doctoral supervisor of Chinese Cultural History, he serves as Head of Research Center of Chinese Traditional Culture ofWuhanUniversity. Besides, he has other social posts, such as Vice President of Chinese Shixue Society, Deputy Chief Compiler of editing the Chorography of Hubei Province, Vice Director of Hubei Provincial Social Science League Academic Committee, and Vice Director of Academic Committee of Wuhan University. In 1986, he was honored as “Middle-Aged or Young Expert with Distinguished Contribution” by the State Commission of Science and Technology.

In past twenty years, Prof. Feng has achieved a lot in his specific study area. Besides the ten books cited above, he has coauthored with other scholars and wrote eight books. Numerous key journals have published his papers and essays. It is more commendable that some of his papers has been published abroad in foreign languages, particularly in Japanese.
